Conversation at 2pm this afternoon between MAC and I:
MAC-- Uh, Mom, was that an earthquake? *sounding a little freaked out*
Mom-- Yes, did the house shake a lot?
MAC-- Somethings fell off of shelves...
Mom-- Are you scared? 'Cause I am a little..
MAC-- NO! Are we going to have aftershocks? **REALLY excited**
Mom-- I don't know...
Conversation at 2:25pm this afternoon between Grammy and I:
Grammy-- We are going over to see if MAC wants to come back and stay at the condo with us..
Me-- Thank you so much, she sounded a little freaked when I spoke with her.
Grammy-- Ok, we are at the house, I hope she'll open the door...
Me-- I think she will if she hears your voice...
Grammy-- *Knocking on door* MAC are you there? Hello?
Grammy-- Grandpa and I thought maybe you'd want to come and stay with us for a little...You could come with us to the airport at 3:30..
MAC-- Why would I want to go to the airport?!
Grammy-- You could come stay with us and then Aunt R will take us all to the airport so we can catch our plane.
MAC-- Nope. I'm fine thanks.
Grammy-- Do you want to talk to your Mom?
MAC-- No, I've already talked with her.
Me--Tell her I've talked to Daddy and he's ok
Grammy-- Mom's talked with Dad and he's fine.
MAC-- *bored* ok, bye
Who would have ever thought we would get an earthquake here? She seemed to have dealt with it better than I have.
Tomorrow is the first day of school for MAC. Every time I have brought it up over the last week she has said, "I don't want to talk about it!" We got her back pack together today and she has a clean uniform ready to get into at 6:30 tomorrow morning.
You do have to wonder about this week: an earthquake today, school starts tomorrow, and we are supposed to get hit with a hurricane on Sunday...Wish us luck!
